BlocTech

Forbo Hardwood Floors are able to cope rather better with spills than most other hardwood floors. The reason for this is BlocTech — our tried-and-tested method that guarantees tighter-fitting joints. It is a process that involves carefully gluing each strip along all four edges before bonding the strips together to form blocks, which are then machined into the wear layer. The strips are so tightly bonded that they form a totally integrated surface which is smooth and easy to clean. This means you get a hardwood floor that is highly resistant to spills and dirt and that stays beautiful for many years to come.

DefaTech

DefaTech is our specially developed surface finishing system for lacquered and oiled hardwood floors. Each hardwood board is treated no less than seven times. The top layer provides high abrasion resistance. The next three layers give the floor its good wear performance. The basic treatment gives the lacquer particularly good adhesion to the wood and enhances the abrasion-resistance qualities of the floor. DefaTech reduces the risk of the floor being spoiled by ugly, light-coloured marks. It also means your floor retains its natural lustre and is easy to clean. Our lacquers are entirely water-based and do not contain solvents. We use vegetable-based oil for our oiled floors

SafeLoc Installation System

It should be simple to install an attractive and serviceable wooden floor. Which is why we have developed our hardwood floor so that anyone can install it. Thanks to SafeLoc, our glue-free and solid locking system, you'll be able to install a floor much easier and quicker than if you were to install one in the traditional way using glue. No time spent gluing nor waiting for it to dry. Once you've installed your floor, you can walk on it straightaway. Moreover, our hardwood boards have a practical, two-meter length, which makes them easier to transport (in your car or in the lift, for instance) and install than other longer boards.
